The Ladies Singles Trophy is a silver salver, sometimes referred to as the “Rosewater Dish” or “Venus Rosewater Dish” which was first won by the Champion when the challenge round was introduced in 1886. The salver, which is made of sterling silver, partly gilded, is 18 ¾ inches in diameter and weights 2.3kg. The theme of the decoration is mythological. The trophy bears no inscription other than the engraving showing the dates and names of all the Champions. From 2007 all Champions have received a three-quarter size replica of the trophy. This replica trophy stands at 7cm tall and will be received in a presentation gift box.
