The Challenge Cup has been presented to Champions of the Gentlemens Singles competition since 1887. The Cup is made of silver gilt and stands at 18 inches high with a weight of 3.5kg. The Cup has a classical style, with two handles and a raised foot. The lid is formed with a pineapple on the top and there are two decorative borders with floral work and ovolo mouldings on the bowl of the Cup and on the handles. The inscription on the Cup reads: The All England Lawn Tennis Club Single Handed Championship of the World From 2007 all Champions have received a three-quarter size replica of the Cup bearing the names of all past Champions. This replica trophy stands at 7cm tall and will be received in a presentation gift box..
